How plant-based cuisine and art found a digital home
Hollerei · Restaurant & Gallery, Vienna
A place that has grown since 1999. The homepage tells its story in five acts, the about page guides through rooms instead of paragraphs. Custom CMS, gift shop, exhibition archive, table reservations.
Context
What makes this site different
The brief was clear: don't list what's there, but tell the story of why. A website that feels like a visit. With narrative arc instead of a table of contents.
"They called us crazy." That's how the homepage opens. The line is real.
Storytelling
A homepage in five acts
The homepage isn't a table of contents. It's a narrative with dramatic structure. Every act has a purpose.
-
01
Spark curiosity
"They called us crazy." A line that sticks. Read on to find out why.
-
02
Show conviction
Plant-based cooking from principle, not trend. The philosophy comes before the menu.
-
03
Create desire
Regional farms, seasonal produce. The food becomes tangible before you book a table.
-
04
Open the horizon
The gallery as a "neighborhood art supplier": contemporary art without intimidation, in Vienna's 15th district.
-
05
Create belonging
Hollergasse 9, since 1999. A place you know. The final act turns visitors into regulars.
Every page ends with an echo: "Some places you visit. Others come back to you."
Implementation

Current, upcoming, and past exhibitions. With artist biographies, curatorial text, and an archive grid for documentation.
Table reservations
Built in, no external service needed. Privacy-compliant and integrated into the CMS.
Result
We wanted a website that captures our soul. 25 years of Hollerei in pixels. Florian sat down, listened, and built something that feels like visiting us: you arrive as a guest and leave as a regular.
