A law firm shows its face.
Peschel & Partner Rechtsanwälte · Law firm, Vienna
The web presence of the law firm at Karmeliterplatz in Vienna: Dr. Oliver Peschel and Mag. Manuel Schölm represent private clients in court, against online casinos, against banks, in civil proceedings all the way to enforcement. The site answers what people want to know before their first call: every practice area with the legal position and procedure, the partners and trainee lawyers with pages of their own, plus press coverage, FAQ, legal glossary and blog.
Context
First the platforms, now the firm
Peschel & Partner Rechtsanwälte take on proceedings the media report on: recovering losses from online casinos, disputed loan processing fees, civil litigation through to enforcement. I had already built two of the firm’s platforms, casinoklage.at and DeineRechte.at. Then came the firm’s own presence: the address people open before they pick up the phone. My task was a website that stands up to that first look.
"People looking for a law firm do not compare statutes. They want to know who they are trusting with their case."
Strategy
A firm you can walk into before you ever call
Before anyone calls a law firm, they look around first. The website takes that seriously: it shows the people, explains the legal position and does not dodge the question of money.
- 01
The person first
The home page opens with a single sentence: "Wir führen Ihren Prozess", we run your case. Next to it, a portrait of Dr. Oliver Peschel; below that, his career as a timeline. Behind it, the partners and the firm’s trainee lawyers each get a page of their own. You know who you are dealing with before you ever dial.
- 02
Practice areas that explain instead of listing
Gambling law, loan processing fees, civil litigation, damages: every area gets a page of its own that explains the legal position, how proceedings unfold and what claimants want to know before taking the first step. A calculator for pain-and-suffering compensation gives a first rough idea. And everywhere the same short path: describe your case, the firm gets back to you.
- 03
Money is discussed up front
A dedicated fees page lays out how billing works, from hourly rates to litigation funding, including a first consultation at a fixed price and direct billing with legal expenses insurers. All of it is settled in the first conversation, not in the final invoice.
- 04
From ZIB 2 to the Financial Times
A dedicated press section brings together the firm’s appearances, from television studios to guest commentary, along with the press releases. And the Kurier seal "Beliebter Anwalt 2026", popular lawyer of 2026, does not hang in the waiting room, it sits on the home page.
- 05
Knowledge the firm shares
The FAQ answer the questions that come up most, the legal glossary explains the terminology, the blog puts current developments into context, and the specialist publications sit collected alongside. Anyone who wants to can walk into the first meeting well prepared.
The site has been live since August 2026. The first answers come from the page, the rest from a conversation.
Implementation
Blue, white and a pennant
The colours come from the brand: a deep blue on plenty of white, with serifs for the big statements. The pennant from the logo returns as a quiet mark, next to captions, as a shape behind the hero. Nothing shines, nothing shouts. The presence advertises by staying calm: exactly what you want from a firm that is about to take on your case.
Strategy
The website conceived as the firm’s flagship: the person as the anchor, a page per practice area with the legal position and procedure, press and knowledge as evidence, short paths to an enquiry
Design
A matter-of-fact visual language in blue and white, serif display type, the pennant from the logo as a recurring mark, the firm’s photography on every page
Visibility
A page per practice area, a knowledge section with FAQ, legal glossary, blog and specialist publications, search across the whole website, a compact English edition
Quality
Picture-heavy pages that appear at once, checked down to contrast and keyboard use
What the website has to deliver
Describe your case, no hurdles
The most important button on the page sits right in the hero: describe your case. The form records the type of enquiry as well, so the firm sees at once what it is about and nobody has to tell their story twice.
One search across everything
A single search field cuts across FAQ, legal glossary, blog and specialist publications. Nobody needs to know where something lives to find it.
Press with sources
Every entry in the press section names the outlet and the date, and links to the original for as long as it is still online.
Big pictures, short waits
The firm’s photos are large and still show up at once, at a desk or on a train with one bar of signal.
